Voluntary Service - Freiwilligendienst
I. Documents to be submitted
You have to be present at the Embassy for verification of your identity and to provide your fingerprints.
Please ensure that you bring all documents listed on the checklist in their original form along with one (1) set of copies.
Additionally, kindly ensure that there are no staples attached to any of the documents
⬜ 1 duly completed and signed national visa application forms (VIDEX)
⬜ 1 biometric passport pictures not older than 6 months (white/grey background- teeth cannot be visible) Photo requirements
⬜ valid passport (data page and signature page only)
⬜ valid Malaysian permit (applicable to non-Malaysians only)
⬜ Motivation Letter with detailed expectations of planned stay and anticipated career and personal benefits as well as future plans
⬜ curriculum vitae in English or in German
⬜ academic qualifications (German university degree or recognized foreign degree certificate and transcripts)
⬜ Proof of German Language proficiency if applicable or confirmation by the placement department/ institution that no language skills are required initially or that you can acquire language skills by attending a language course after entry
⬜ Federal Voluntary Service (BFD)
Your contract must be signed by you and the Federal Office of Family Affairs and Civil Society Functions (BAFzA), as well as the placement department, headquarters and, where applicable, by the institution implementing the voluntary service.
OR
⬜ Voluntary Social Year (FSJ) / Voluntary Ecological Year (FOJ)
Your contract must be signed by you and the respective institution, as well as, where applicable, the placement Department
OR
⬜ European Voluntary Service (EVS)
Your contract must be signed by the National Agency for Erasmus+ Youth in Action and the coordinating organization. The Volunteer Arrangement in which the tasks and planned participant achievements are described must be signed by the coordinating organization and the volunteer
⬜ Means of subsistence
As a rule, the sponsoring organization covers accommodation and food costs. If the contract or other confirmation provided by the respective department does not provide information on your accommodation and meals, please provide additional proof that you can support yourself
⬜ Travel, Health and Accident Insurance with a validity of 6 months starting from your intended travel date
II. Reference
The Embassy issues visas with a minimum validity of 90 days, allowing multiple entries. Shortly after entering Germany, the visa holder must contact the responsible Immigration Office (Ausländerbehörde) in Germany, which then issues the final residence permit.

The above list is not comprehensive and is updated frequently. Additional documents may be required in individual cases. Incomplete applications cannot be processed and you may be asked to book another appointment. Applicants may be called in for an Interview.
