Each year, the German Bundestag, in cooperation with three universities in Berlin, offers around 120 scholarships to young university graduates.

Would you like to work at the German Parliament?

Each year, the German Bundestag, in cooperation with the Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Technische Universität Berlin, offers around 120 scholarships to young university graduates from 50 countries. The programme runs from 1 March to 31 July.

If you are from the Asia-Pacific Region, under the age of 30, with a university degree, then the International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) at the German Bundestag could give you the opportunity to experience how the Bundestag works over the course of five months with three of these spent working in the office of a German Member of Parliament.
The programme year 2027 begins on March 1, 2027 and ends on July 31, 2027.

Application Deadline: 15 May 2026!

The internship programme aims to:

  • Promote relations between Germany and the participating countries
  • Consolidate democratic values and tolerance
  • Deepen understanding of cultural diversity
  • Secure peaceful coexistence in the world

Requirements

  • Citizenship of a participating country (dual nationality is permitted)
  • University degree
  • Very good knowledge of the German language (at least level B2)
  • A keen interest in political and social contexts and German history
  • Commitment to political and social issues
  • Under 30 years old at the start of the scholarship

The scholarship

The scholarship includes a monthly payment of 700 euros, free accommodation, and health, accident and liability insurance. It also covers the cost of travel to and from Berlin.
