ICT - Visa for Intra-Company Transfer and Personnel Exchange

General Information


Visas are available for three categories of employees for temporary intra-company transfers.
Executives and specialists or trainees in international companies can apply for an ICT Card for an assignment at the host company’s branch in Germany. Executives must be intended to lead the host branch or its departments. Specialists must have essential expertise in the activities, procedures, or administration of the host branch, as well as a high level of qualification and relevant professional experience. Trainees must hold a university degree and participate in a paid trainee program aimed at their professional development or training in business techniques and methods.
Academic professionals can apply for a visa for a personnel exchange within an international company or corporate group to work in Germany.

Documents to be submitted


You have to be present at the Embassy for verification of your identity and to provide your fingerprints.

Please ensure that you bring all documents listed on the checklist in their original form along with one (1) set of copies.

Additionally, kindly ensure that there are no staples attached to any of the documents

⬜ 1 duly completed and signed National visa application forms (VIDEX)

⬜ 1 biometric passport pictures not older than 6 months (white/grey background- teeth cannot be visible) Photo requirements

⬜ valid passport (data page and signature page only)

⬜ valid Malaysian permit (applicable to non-Malaysians only)

⬜ Secondment contract

⬜ Preliminary approval from the Federal Employment Agency (if available)

⬜ The “Declaration of Employment” and “Additional Form B” completed and signed by the employer

⬜ Proof of qualifications:

- For skilled workers and trainees: Diplomas and proof of the equivalency of your degree to a German qualification

- For specialists: Proof of special expertise, high qualification level, and relevant work experience

⬜ Travel, Health and Accident Insurance with a validity of 6 months starting from your intended travel date

General Information

The application can be submitted without prior approval from the German authorities. The approval will be sought during the visa process.
To speed up processing, it is recommended that your employer in Germany obtain preliminary approval from the Federal Employment Agency and provide a printout of this confirmation when submitting the visa application

The Embassy generally issues visas with a minimum validity of 90 days, allowing multiple entries. Shortly after entering Germany, the visa holder must contact the responsible Immigration Office (Ausländerbehörde) in Germany, which then issues the final residence Permit.

Processing time: min. 4 weeks

Please note that visas will not be issued earlier than three months before your intended travel date to Germany!
