Fees for Passports, ID, Visa and other Consular Services
Many of our services are subject to a fee. Find information on the amount and the payment options here.
Payment Options
The fees we charge are stipulated by German law, for example in the Passport Act or the Regulations on Fees for Services Abroad. Fees are set in Euro and will be converted into Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) according to the Embassy's exchange rate. The amount is rounded up or down to the nearest 1.- MYR amount.
Fees are payable in cash in MYR or by credit card (Visa or MasterCard). Debit cards are not accepted.
Please note the following:
- It is not allowed to take your cellphone into the consular section. If you need an OTP for credit card transactions, it will not be possible.
- Due to technical reasons, failures in credit card payments may sometimes occur.
- Credit cards will be charged in Euro from Germany and additional bank charges may apply. Please ensure that the security measures of your Malaysian bank do not prohibit credit card charges from abroad.

Passport and ID Fees
If you are not a resident in Malaysia or Brunei or do you retain a place of residence in Germany? Then the increased fee, including surcharge for applications out of jurisdiction, apply to you.

As the fee is not charged for the issuing of a visa, but for the processing of the application, it will not be refunded if the visa application is rejected.

IMPORTANT:
Please note, that the external service provider VFS Global charges a service fee for handling the submission of visa applications. The fees have been directly agreed upon between the Federal Foreign Office and the service provider.

Fees for other Services
The fee schedule for consular services has been adapted with effect from 01.10.2021. Fees are now charged on the basis of the “Besondere Gebührenverordnung des Auswärtigen Amts (AABGebV).
