Welcome

Entry to Germany, recognition of vaccines and EU Digital Covid Certificate!

06.04.2022 - Article

Entry to Germany is currently restricted.

Fully vaccinated persons can enter Germany without any restrictions.

- The status “fully vaccinated” requires TWO doses of a vaccine, which is recognized in Germany
Please note that Germany only recognizes vaccines that are approved by the European Medicine Agency (EMA):

Comirnaty (BionTech and Pfizer), Nuvaxovid (Novavax), Spikevax (Moderna), Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca) and Covid-19 Vaccine Janssen (Johnson&Johnson).

- Proof of urgent need for travel

Travellers who are not fully vaccinated under these conditions will need to prove an “urgent need for travel”.
If you have that urgent reason, you will also need to present a negative test

For further information, examples for “urgent need for travel” and relevant forms, please check the information on our Website, follow the indicated links, especially:

- Recognition of Digital Covid Certificate

The EU's Digital Covid Certificate system will recognise Malaysia's COVID certificate via MySejahtera, effective April 4th. This will facilitate movement of Malaysian travelers within the EU.
Do take note that this does not mean automatic recognition of all vaccines used in Malaysia (see above).

Covid regulations are changed on a regular basis, so please check our website and indicated links for updated information closer to the time of your intended travels.
