Proof of urgent need to travel for not fully vaccinated persons, entry to Germany for fully vaccinated persons and visa requirements

Issue of visas for vaccinated persons

Visas for fully vaccinated persons can be processed as usual at the German Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and the VFS Visa Centre.
Important: The vaccines Sinovac, Sinopharm and Sputnik – among others – are not recognized in Germany and therefore you would be considered unvaccinated, even with one booster dose of Pfizer or Astra Zeneca.

Entry to Germany for fully vaccinated persons

Visas for persons who are not fully vaccinated only if absolutely necessary

Visas can also still be issued to persons who are not yet fully vaccinated with a recognised vaccine if the intended entry to Germany is absolutely necessary. The circumstances under which entry is considered to be absolutely necessary are explained in German, English and French on the website of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community under the heading Coronavirus – FAQs, under “Travel restrictions/border control”.
