27.12.2021 - Article

The third call for proposals by IKI Small Grants is open from 15th of December 2021 to 15th of April 2022. In a one-stage selection procedure, small regional, national and local organisations based in an ODA-eligible country can apply for funding for local or regional climate and biodiversity projects. IKI Small Grants provides funding between EUR 60,000 and EUR 200,000.

The IKI Small Grants programme supports projects and organisations worldwide that tackle climate change, address local adaptation, and conserve forests and biodiversity. Get to know the programme, learn about funding opportunities, and get inspired by good approaches from IKI Small Grants Projects.

The German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) is committed to strengthening climate and biodiversity action worldwide. Through its International Climate Initiative (IKI), it finances projects and programmes on climate change mitigation, adaptation as well as forest and biodiversity conservation on an international level. It is thus contributing to the global framework of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
